Spotify is not available in my region but I really like Deezer: http://www.deezer.com/en/

Some of my music should be available on Spotify, search for : Bogdan Radovic - Night Vibe or Keep Going On and Groovy Tunes - Zamisli smile.gif

Spotify it's a legal streaming service. You can listen free ( with advertising), or with a subscription (without advertising)
They have a large catalog of music.
You can listen all what you want in every moment. artist or songs... albums. you choose its not like last fm only listening radios....
You can make collaboration list like this on every user can add songs.
The important point it's legal... artist recives money for his rights.

Bogdan Radovic deezer it's cool too. I start with spotify and i don't wanna change now. i put your music in the list smile.gif

This sounds great. It's very important this sentence: " The important point it's legal... artist receives money for his rights.". I use for the same purpose Youtube. Youtube pays the artists but the bad thing is that is full of music uploaded by people who doesn't own the rights so nobody receives the money for that plays.

We should stimulate more the use of sites like Spotify.

you guys should read this http://www.spotidj.com/spotifyroyalties.htm and then consider spotify as " artist receives money for his rights".

Have you read the full article? The guys who writes it says that the problem is not that they payment per stream is too low, he says that the problem is that the quantity of streams is still low. I don't have too much information about this but this article has been something very interesting to read.

I don't like it cause of the commercials, but I have never tried it that much to be honest.

I started using it since the first day it was available in the UK, I think it was january 2009. Have both in PCs and mobile devices and it is just great.

I've never used Spotify myself, I just don't like the idea of all these services feeding into Facebook and letting my friends know my every move on the internet laugh.gif

That being said, when I distributed my album through CDBaby, they put it on Spotify and basically every other service similar (Rhapsody, rdio). I don't know if it's there's any benefit from me being on those services, but I guess there's no detriment.

Spotify is pretty darn amazing and it may put many of the other services out of business. It's come on really strong smile.gif

More and more services like this are taking over for most people instead of them buying music (NOT HERE OF COURSE WHERE FOLKS SUPPORT THEIR FAV ARTIST!!) but outside of GMC smile.gif

Never used it myself. I prefer buying / owning Cd's. I tend to listen to new stuff on youtube and bandcamp and then if I get into it I'll buy a physical copy.

What I like about this kind of service (Spotify/Deezer) is that it is basically an online library of music which I can access any time. Everything is good quality (to extent of online streaming) and well organized as you can find full albums and even rare stuff available. I like the concept though physical CDs will always remain a medium digital distribution will never be able to match, especially because of all the artwork etc.
