Yes guys! biggrin.gif It's finally done! We are so excited! Now the studio can work their magic on our tracks. Josh is my main vocalist, but I sing in "Living in the Last Days" and "Mount of Olives." I also attempted screaming with him in the outro of "Mount of Olives."

Thanks! Josh could barely hit the last note correctly when I told him just one more phrase to record and we're done! tongue.gif

Thank you! Yes definitely! Especially a drummer. I want a TIGHT drummer. I want some serious double bass - maybe even someone who could teach me some more things about polyrhythms than I am already doing.

Super big congrats again!! You've made it past the first step and put out music in the world! Now the real work starts. Promo!

1.)contact every music blog you can and ask for a review, good or bad as long as they spell your name right.
2.)same with metal/rock podcasts
4.)every online metal zine you find.

Make a nice press kit complete with 8x10 glossy and a physical cd. I know this seems crazy but some folks still want this crap. Go figure?

Can't wait to see the responses! Keep a copy of each and every review as PDF file (just turn the web page to a pdf) and those become clippings for your press kit smile.gif

Todd

Todd's advice is a very good place to start and good drummers are rare - at least in my country smile.gif

Thing is, you will have to brace yourself for anything in respect to people. I have worked or tried to work with A LOT of folks and mostly the combos are: nutcase/talented or goodguy/mediocre - RARELY you can find someone who's able to discipline himself to let the nutcase inside loose only when it comes to creation or performing laugh.gif

Let us know man smile.gif There must be some sort of local announcement service which you can also try.. Now given the fact that you live in a country that's pretty darn huge, it's gonna take a while and there's also a possibility to find folks which live way too far.. In here it's simple from this point of view.. small country but as I said, less possibilities smile.gif

Very, very true.

I'd also add that if you are sending it out to record labels that your promo needs to be professional as you have about 15 seconds* to make an impression. If you don't hook their attention your cd and promo pack will be in the bin as the record exec moves on to the next promo.
So if you want a call back then your demo needs to be at least of commerical audio quality and better yet have something that makes you stand out head and shoulders above the rest (image, originality, marketability, established fan base etc ). You get one chance at this so make it your best.

(* according to two old friends of mine - one is an ex VP of A&R for WB, the other is a VP at Sony.)

I also think that if you guys have a lot of video materials and expose the songs in such a way that you can gather a lot of fans, interest will surely grow. Everyone is more interested in respect to joining a project which offers some perspective wink.gif

Hey mate smile.gif I will send you my band's presskit so you can examine it closely - a presskit is a band's business card so to say. It should contain a written presentation, pictures, media links, portfolio, mp3 songs in some cases, a vectorial logo, the touring and gigging fees and a technical rider.
