I wish I had something, Cosmin, but I've got absolutely nothing. Well, I've got 100 different things, but nothing that's worth keeping.

I can't be there, unfortunately. Going to see Protest the Hero, Tesseract, The Safety Fire and Intervals tomorrow night. But I will rewatch the video chat when I get the chance.

PS: It's available for EVERYONE here who needs some reset on the mind and hands tongue.gif Especially for this collab smile.gif

I was in the chat, so I've already seen it. But that was based on another backing track, wasn't it? Not that it matters, the ideas could still be applied, I guess.

And yes, I'm seeing Tesseract! And Protest The Hero, who I also really like!

Yes mate - that idea applies to anything smile.gif I will try to come up with an example based on the one string approach - till then, check out Gabriel's tips above! biggrin.gif

Hi Gabriel. Your great video pretty much sums it all up, I think I got a couple of ideas for the collab. And let me just add that your tips are certainly not only for beginners (in case any non-beginners would be intimidated by the title of the video). smile.gif

Thanks for that video Gab...Its a great instructional video to help guys like me..I wish there was a similar video each time someone released a new collab...and I think everyone would gain a lot more guitar melody/lead playing knowledge....I also like the 1 String approach that Cosmin has been showing on his chats. I've been incorporating that into my practice routine and it does seem to be uncovering stuff that I wouldn't have thought of rather than with more strings involved and cliché licks...Note choice becomes much different in a linear fashion.
I think Darius is doing this collab in tonights chat...so hats of to the instructor dudes for their time and motivation! smile.gif

Glad you found our ideas as being of help, man smile.gif

The one string approach makes things easy and hard in the same time - why?

Easy: you don't have to worry about crossing strings and having no limits, can be very baffling a lot of times!
Difficult: you have to fight the urge of using shapes and actually figuring out what notes to play and when smile.gif

The good part is, that if you manage to reset your brain, this difficulty will turn into a huge advantage as you will actually learn the notes on the neck and become aware of what you are playing.

Let's see some ideas that you guys came up with, based on the 1 string approach and on Gabe's tips and tricks, shall we?

Hey Tim! Great job over this lesson. I know that it can be tricky to create a solo over this one but the result that you got is very positive. The solo keeps my attention from the begining to the end. Well done!
