Was reading an interview with a Ph.d from a local University on DeathMetal.org today (here is the link http://www.deathmetal.org/news/interview-m...f-west-georgia/

There isn't actually that much in it on methodology - it's mostly method - what there is rather jumps about and seems to think that its entirely unproblematic to mix very different theoretical perspectives. It's also a little odd that if he is concerned with gender performativity that his reading of Butler (and his even more limited reading of Foucault) is less than contemporaneous and rather glosses that sexuality, unlike musical choice, isn't a life style choice. I tend to be quite critical of what is presented as methodology in a thesis though - you wouldn't want me as one of the external examiners - and his examiners passed it, which is what counted.
