Hi guys, i couldn't resist a collab over a Piotr backing. Didn't turned out Moore-ish, but this is what i came up with so far.
Hope you guys like it smile.gif

Hell yeah man. That tone is KILLER.

I'm very partial to that signature Strat sound. cool.gif

How in blazes could you fall asleep at a Gary Moore gig? I didn't go to see him in 2010 because I thought I would easily get another chance... he passed away a few months later sad.gif

Unfortunately it's a story that I can't share on these boards. sad.gif
Let's just say that it had been a week long party where I played 3 shows with 3 different bands and went to see 3 others play and on the last day we went to see Gary and I had only had about 15 hours sleep all week!!

Wow! Great take man biggrin.gif I like the dynamics - there's that GREAT one where you were in full force and suddenly you dropped the tension! Very nice!!

So, I've re-worked the slow one a bit:-

I know that last bend was a bit flat but this isn't the final take!!

Hey Neil! This one is shaping up great as well! I'd focus a bit on the ascending and descending runs towards the end, so that I may give them a little bit of pulse!

Hey Jeroen! Nice take man! I'd bring in a bit more dynamic in the phrasing after 0:24 as it is too static at the moment and also watch out for the bends, so that you may reach the desired pitch wink.gif Keep that first bend - that one is PERFECT!

Hi All,
At the risk of sounding like a n00b, we're just submitting a 30 second clip of our solo right? I noticed the backing tracks were only that long and wasn't sure if people were looping them or everyone is just doing 30 seconds.

Sorry if the answer is obvious. rolleyes.gif

It is necessary for us to create something that will hold listener attention. If We would put 2 minutes full solos of everybody I think not everyone could challenge of listening to a full collab mix - imagine we have even up to 20 solos per collab! smile.gif

But it is allowed to post longer take because if you name Your takes same as collab title, it will display next to the final mix video on YouTube. Once somebody get's interested in Your playing he can always check Your full entry on You channel smile.gif

Also You have a good point...maybe the "noob" word is not best at the place but in deed when You focus to make shorter solo, You can rethink it many times and improve to best level so You give a great image of Your playing for all the listeners smile.gif

We want the collaboration to have a positive affect on students skills development as well smile.gif

Hi mate! This take sounds much better than the previous one. Your bending is more precise now. If you want to continue improving it, I would work a bit more in the phrasing. I think that it starts ok but the overall idea is a bit repetitive, you should take one of the 4 phrases and change a bit the rhythm, or at least don't use bending, to make it sound different.

When I'm composing a solo and I have a recording, I mark the stronger sections and the weaker ones, those parts that I love and those that are there just to fill the space. I use to mute the weaker parts and try to work on new ones. I repeat this process many times until I get something that I believe is 100% strong. smile.gif

Hi mate! The take is getting close. I like the first phrasings, the first half. I think that the second half needs definition, there are many scale patterns but it seems that there is nothing more happening there, there is a main phrase lacking there. Those patterns are good connectors but try to define the phrases between them.

Thanks Gab, I'm working on trying to get a bit more definition/articulation into those runs. If I can't get it to my liking I may redo it with a more melodic approach!!
