Hey all, just wanted to say that I've finally gotten around to putting together my first solo album. You'll recognise some of the tracks which have been blessed with new drum tracks from my new Italian partner in crime, Andre De Carolis, as well as being remixed, mastered etc.

It was real fun to put together. Rather than being just a vehicle for guitar solos, I like to write stuff that is strong in structure and riff heavy too. So it's almost like an instrumental Megadeth album with hints of Opeth, Satriani, Becker, Friedman etc.. thought I'd put it up here in case anyone's interested smile.gif

With most of them, I had an idea of a subject matter that I was influenced by whilst I was writing them. Usually I think of a concept and write around that. Even a word can be enough to set me off !

Looking forward to it smile.gif Ola Englund is doing something similar in that he's going to brand a release with his name instead of a band name. Reckoning was similar to feared in that it was pretty much you doing the writing/playing and everything yes?

Yeah I don't blame him.. if you're the main creative force behind something then it makes sense to either make it obvious that it's your project or just go solo.

Yeah, I wanted The Reckoning to be a band of like minded comrades but it's incredibly difficult to do as finding the right chemistry with people who have the same goals is ridiculously rare. So I evolved into a D.I.Y. approach because I could do what I wanted and had only to please myself smile.gif

Wou!! Those audio samples are amazing mate! Let me say that the phrase "Instrumental Megadeth album" really attracted me! I'm in a very Megadeth period, listening to a lot of their older stuff but also Cryptic Writings era.

Congrats on your new album mate. You are doing very good musician moves for your career lately. Keep on the great job!

Well done Ben! I started to mess with my original CD too. Finally I have all needed stuff. Now I need to rethink some phrases to make sure they keep the melody flow and some more dynamics + to make it all have sense as a full album...You know the feeling it's all one, common story.

You're album teaser sound ass kicking. It really brings up some good memories - tribute to metal classics. I think many people will like it smile.gif Congrats!
