Writing in a post earlier, I thought it would be a good idea to talk about our favorite places to hang out with friends smile.gif For me, there's this fancy little restaurant/bistro in Bucharest, held by one of our fans. It's called 'Casa cu tei' and that means 'The house of the linden tree'. The chef - also the owner, likes to treat us with all sorts of incredible foods and sweets that he cooks himself. It's really like having your own chef who treats you with something different but delicious every time smile.gif

Where do you hang out and why?

I'm a home-body. Even when I use to hang out places, it was someone else's home and even now, I prefer to stay here in my "lab" or to my friends where the jam room is. People who are alike gravitate towards each other, and me being very introverted, my closest friends and even my wife are introverted as well. Meaning, we get our energy recharged by being alone and quiet working on a project or something like that - as opposed to being extroverted and being charged by having contact with people or crowds.

I still enjoy going places though like this past weekend. But typically my wife and I enjoy going to Charleston or Savannah and staying in hotels that are reported to be haunted - we also enjoy going on ghost tours.

But my favorite place in the world, is right here at home.

That sounds quite cool. Have you ever seen anything really weird when staying in one of those hotels?

I too got the family thing going on these days so consequently ... not a lot of 'hanging out' anymore.

I go out or stay out after gigs. There's a couple bars and coffee shops in my neighborhood where I run into other muso buddies. Also my wife is pretty social and we have people over to our place all the time.

I don't get out much but if things changed I'd get my butt over to Europe and hang out with some Germans.

And maybe a Finn.

Not yet man. However, we never have gone through all the footage either. The most boring aspect is going over footage of a dark empty room. It looks like the video is on pause - and we have tape with hours of it - but to my knowledge, we have not captured anything.

I had a few experiences when I was a teenager, then saw a picture from a source that I know to be 100% reliable in the early 90s - so that peaked my interest in the stuff.

It must be really cool doing that sort of stuff. I can imagine how boring it must be going through hours of footage, how nuts would it be to see something kinda weird! that would probably freak me the hell out!
Ive been fascinated in that stuff ever since I was a kid watching 'Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World' on TV smile.gif I'd like to go on ghost hunt for sure, probably not on my own though, Im a skeptic .........not a noob cool.gif
I suggested that maybe Cosmin and Monica could go and check out the hoia baciu forest in Romania on my behalf...... they weren't so keen though wink.gif

Great topic!! I have many ones, but this is a place where I use to go very often because I've become a big fan of Mexican Food. This place is called "La Fabrica del Taco" and it's around 20 blocks from my house. I use to go there with my girl and friends.

I have never gone to Mexico but it seems that it looks like Mexican Street Food stores.

I think I am a lucky guy. I have friends that own bars, coffee shops, bakeries. There's also a great little spot that a marketplace for 10 or so businesses.

But one of the best things my wife and I came up with is what we call TNDC (tuesday night dinner club) (previously monday night dinner club until my wife's schedule shifted around). We have about 5-7 people over most weeks. Everyone brings some food or drinks and we just enjoy each others company. It's cheap, fun and depending on who comes depends on the outcome of the night. Sometimes it's just a nice polite catchup, other times it turns into an all night rager.

it has definitely made for better friendships.

The wife and I don't have that much time or energy to go and hang out. I suppose the gym and church are like 2nd homes to us though.

This sounds like a great idea! I think I will try it too smile.gif I have some friends who know how to cook, so they can bring all the goodies with them, when they come biggrin.gif

Asa general conclusion, I notice that a lot of folks here have families and that's pretty much keeping them in, aside the jobs and all the related aspects.

Have you tried having an evening out once in a while when you just forget about everything and enjoy time with friends, like in the old days? I'm sure it's a very good way to get over a lot of hurdles that life throws our way smile.gif

I don't go out too much because I never find free time to do that. But if it happens to go out, I go at riding horse and I have a place when I like to go to eat. It's a restaurant near Bucharest (30 km), it named "Hanul Lupului" in english it sound something like "wolf khan". There it's very quiet and a clean air away from city mess. Also the food and cocktails have an awesome taste.

My 'Hang Out' is 'Cookham Social Club'.
It's a Members Only club run by a Committee of Members. I am the Club Secretary and I also work behind the Bar a couple of times a week.
I've played Pool for them in the local Pool League for the last 10 years or so.

If I'm not there then I'll likely be found in one of the other local Hostelries.

My gal and I have stayed at the Marshall house a few times in Savannah. Bet we could swap some stories.

Awesome - yes we stayed at the Marshall House 2 years ago. I still have footage I have not gone over from there, but did not catch anything at this point. I put the video camera on night vision and placed it at the top corner of the bed and was able to capture wall to wall - the only way you could tell the camera was running was because there was a box of tissues that sort of flickered in the wind of the ceiling fan - I mean, IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR A CIVIL WAR SOLDIER TO WALK THROUGH THE ROOM???!!!

My favorite place to go through in Savannah is the Sorrel-Weed House.

We've had some great walk-throughs there, and others not so great, last year there were a bunch of drunk college girls which ruined it for us, but we have gone through with just 4 of us too. Talk about spooky, that basement especially. Last year was the first time at the Sorrel-Weed I tried to capture EVPs, but the drunk girls made it impossible, I tried to make sure they saw my dissatisfaction with them.

Also we had a good time at the old Jail in Charleston - only a few people were there and it was late at night, still didn't catch anything.

As for Marshall House, it is a great place to stay when in Savannah. We stayed at Old Harbour Inn last year, but next trip I think the Keyhoe House, check this bad boy out...

and it's a 4.3 out of 5 stars.

I'm a home-body, I'm an introvert also. I can't handle large amount of people for a long time. I can do concerts due to the common grounds, outside that not so much. So typically I hang out in my room with my guitars. I do however enjoy going out for drives on nice days to try new restaurants with friends.

Just last week I went to DC. I got to see some monuments, museums, and the White House. Stayed 2 nights and did 3 days of activities. By around the middle of day 2, I just wanted to go back home to my room and play my guitars I lost interest in the trip.
