Howdy Tim!
I was sure you sort of missed that 6/8 feel But, it's a good drill so keep at it - I'd be curious to see a recording with the new time signature and if you wish, after taking care of these lessons we could also focus on some more 6/8 time signature lead playing and working on your vibrato as well - out of what I can remember, your vibrato was not having any issues, but I must see an example of what you are having in mind, so that I may fully understand the context About the mixing vids - I did a quick search and I found this: http://therecordingrevolution.com/2011/07/...art-your-mixes/ ... have I found the right one? I also found this review which I am about to watch: So, I think I have all the info at hand - maybe I'll get them too. In the mean time, I am waiting for your new videos and impressions on your playing - keep this habit alive, as it's gonna help a lot Keep rocking, Tim! Hey Cosimn I'm doing great! Busy, but great! Great to hear that the tool lesson has improved! As for the Intervals lesson, that's a very interesting point you make! never really even noticed the different time signature! They're something Im not really good /familiar with. Maybe a topic to look into in the future! So i played around with it in 6/8 today. It has quite a different feel! Especially the last ascending run! Is this because of the changed accents? Ill Practice it some more and try to do a vid for you tomorrow. With the mix vids, normally I would share these kind of things, but because they are paid for content i dont really want to openly share them as I like to support the creator. They are the "jumpstart series" from the recording revolution. I picked them up a while back for cheap(25 Euro?) When they were having an online sale (50% off I believe) If your curious about any of them or would like a preview, let me know which ones and I can find a way to get them to you. I'll take your deal too, i'll get these lessons done and I'll keep you informed on what i analyze from my playing. One thing I noticed today is that I dont have the best vibrato when i do larger bends. THe notes go out of tune a lot, not the best sound. So another lesson idea for the future! Anyways, Back to it again. Hope all is well on you side, Keeping yourself nice a busy as usual i assume! Till next time Tim |

Great!
I'll get it posted now. The 6/8 time makes the piece feel a lot smoother, it fits better to the backing track too! I didnt understand what you meant witht the tool lesson. was that a go aheadwith it. that i've got it ? As for whats next, i've got these three in my sights https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Rhythm-Funk/ https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/hard-rock-licks/ https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Chord-Melodies/ The funk lesson is coming a long well, just the fast lick in it thats causing me trouble. In the next one, there is an example of those bent vibrato notes i was talking about(right before the tapping lick). otherwise needs a little more work to smooth it out over all. The last one still needs a bit more work to get the feel right. So, let me know about the tool lesson and then we can move on Tim |

hey Tim!
It's definitely a go ahead with, for the Tool lesson Focus on timing, clean playing and be as precise as possible - that's the key to a great REC take. I know you already know this, but it's not a bad thing to mention it again and again... and again About the new lessons, they seem like a challenging bunch - speed is not always the challenge as I am well aware that you know, but expression, so please take a bit of time to focus on widening your vibrato and making it more expressive. The Hard Rock Licks lesson is great for this and I would also recommend this one: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Bend-E...chnique-Lesson/ - it's a bit slower paced, but more based on control What do you think? |
