I read that people have used this as a pocket size backup amp for gigging:

It sells for €98 / $99 - so I am thinking it could maybe be a neat option as a first multieffect/amp sim, or as a backup for gigs (plug straight into PA). It can do 6 simultaneous effects and some decent amp simulations for the price.

Does anyone have experience from this unit?

I have the version with the Bluetooth, the MS-100BT. It's a great little unit, I use it a lot in my signal chain.



Everything is really nice about the unit. I use the modulations all the time, and the delays and reverbs are really good. The OD/Distortion simulations are alright, but I have a Tubescreamer so I use the instead of the digital emulation. The only thing I find completely unusable in it is the amp models, and in particular the high gain ones. They're all full of noise and sound like garbage if the gain is pushed past 2.

Oh yeah, did I mention the ZNR Noise Gate? It's one of my favorite features of the unit! It's like a noise gate but a bit smarter, and doesn't interfere with your guitar tone as much (sustain and dynamic-wise).

Very nice review, thanks. Sounds like it gives value for money then, it's a shame you're not happy with the amp simulations though.

I think the (low gain) amp sim at 05:00 sounded decent. What if you use the built-in overdrive to push an amp sim (but keep gain low on the amp sim?

I am not really planning on buying one myself, but it struck me that for this price it could be a cool unit.

1-2 friends I know uses it for the chorus, reverb etc. type needs (everything except amp sim.s) for stage but they are blues guys and pretty sensitive about their tone

I haven't used it but also check if it has cab. sim.s too

Sadly, I have to agree. The amp models are a bit crap and the high gain is total crap. But then again I'm REALLY picky on high gain. But was was mentioned, it's great for other fx. But you'd need something that did good amp/cab sim and good gain to use with it. At that point, your looking at adding an entire other unit to the chain that probably already has modulation/delay fx.

So unless you are playing mostly clean tones, this isn't a solution for ya. However, if you play jazz, blues, etc. and don't mind the amp/cab sims, This one pedal could be your entire rig

However, for the same money, you could go retro and get a GNX1 for CHEAP which I just did myself!! I got one on ebay for $35!! It's got great cab/amp sims and a wah pedal built in. I've tried wads of floor units and this one still sounds better than most any I've tried. The newer digitech units the RP series, are a bit Craaaaaaaaaaaap IMHO so stay away.
