I would definitely recommend you take Sensei Todd up on his offer... what he doesn't know about picking isn't worth knowing
This also may help, I've just created a thread talking about hand position and picking across strings. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...t=0#entry704279 |

Hi guys, I was wondering if there's any really good drills/lessons on GMC for improving speed picking? I guess I'd say if I had to rate myself on the 1-10 scale GMC has for lessons I'd put myself at about a 3.5-4 for speed picking. It's a bit behind most of my other techniques and it's really starting to bug and limit me. Thanks everyone! Hi Nick, If you are looking for pure exercises which you can play along with the metronome, I'd suggest checking out Todd's series of lessons : https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/wiki/inde...-_Shred_Journey They are very good for improving speed and stamina. You might also want to check out this lesson by Darius to see where you stand with the techniques used: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Altern...Picking-Basics/ Also this lesson by Ben is very good for solving issues in crossing between strings: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Inside-Outside-Picking/ Last but not least, here are some great sounding musical exercise lessons I'd suggest: 1. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Altern...king-Workout-1/ 2. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Altern...king-Workout-2/ 3. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Altern...chniques-Combo/ Please keep us updated with your progress and if you have any questions along the way. -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net

Hi Nick! I think that you have enough material in the previous post to start working right now! I strongly recommend you to work with an instructor like Todd or me to take the most of your time and work effectively on your speed picking technique. You'll save a lot of time and take your technique to a new level soon.
