Hi mate! That's a cool riff. I find it really promising and the next step should be to create a drum groove for this one in order to get inspiration to continue the idea. That's why I think that it's very important to have software to record and program midi that allows you to create demos from your favorite songs.

The good news is that there is free software to start experimenting with this, so you don't need to do important investments to start.

If I'm not wrong, there is a free version of Reaper, a very used multitrack software: http://www.reaper.fm/

And +1 to Reaper - it's what I use. It's a 30 day trial but once it runs out you can continue to use it without limitations (although I do feel bad everytime I open it up and it says I've been using it for thousands of days )

Gabriel I tried to download one of the drum programs and it said that my computer has trouble compressing the file probably cause its like super old, The files are inside the computer! I talked to a friend of mine and he said that I need more memory space and better processor

I'm using there Reaper and Addictive Drums 2 software which offers a completely usable trial drum kit. I think it might be easier to install. You can find all the links in the lesson (Check video part 1).

Why do you think that you don't have gear for taking part in the collabs?
If you'd like, I could help you get setup with what you already have.

This video is a bit old but it shows you how you can record guitar with good quality using your internal audio card of your computer (so no need to buy any new hardware).

Awesome I remember seeing this before I joined the website, I just figured I get a good guitar w/ some good pickups before I even started to record lol

It's never too early to start recording

It doesn't even have to be a whole song - I have a folder with a bunch of licks and riffs - most of them just sit there collecting dust.

But it's good to have these so you either 1) go back to them and develop them at a later time or 2) keep track of your progress - overtime you will be able to see how your ideas are becoming more developed.

Anyone have second thoughts on a collab? Turn into a funny collab it's not gonna really work w/ neoclassical sounds but definately blues but I want add both elements of neo-classical and blues at the same time. Turn into like the postal service or something lol \m/ Both videos you can the link above add the "yount sound." It's only in Metal Rock 2 couldn't do it both songs. Go crazy w/ the arrangements do whateves! Just an idea. boss metal zone settings low 3 o'clock, high 2 o'clock middle, middle between 1 and 2 o'clock, mid frequency 2 o'clock, distortion between 2 and 3 o'clock currently, using a just a Marshall mgseries cdr good little practice amp reverb at between 3 and 4 o'clock

Cool rifff!!! I think it would make a great collab. If you havn't lead a "Student Collab" before, this would be a great one to start with!! You will need some sort of drum software and a daw but both can be downloaded for free on the web. REAPER is the daw of choice for free downloads of course. HEre is a link to some free drum software.

You can record directly in to your computer using the free version of AMPLITUDE of course. So thankfully everything you need is free!!!

Your riff sounds very cool
You said that you are not good at writing drums but you can make another thing. Are different sites including YT where you can find some free drums grooves. My advice is to download only the grooves which are recorded live in studio because sounds really awesome. After download you can cut and glue different parts, chose some drum breaks that you like and build your own rhythm. I will not lie, it's a hard job to make all the things to fits perfectly but the result can be a nice one.
Look I tried something like this with a short piece from your riff. I hope you will don't mind Unfortunately I could not remove your metronome from the track but you can see how it sound the drum after a few cuts and glued parts
