Firstly I would donate a whole load of money to cancer research facilities around the globe.

Feed the starving.

Home the homeless.

Then:

Fly to Argentina to see Cirse and have a private lesson with Gab smile.gif

Fly home buy a house with room for a HUGE guitar, amp and fx collection with a pro studio to the side with a small stage with a drum kit on it so my musician friends come come and jam.

Oh yeah, and cars, many cars.

And a private apartment in each of my favourite holiday destinations.

It's a great way to take a look at one's life. This question often gets asked in counseling sessions. Usually ends with "Then why aren't you doing that right now?". Once you take money out of the equation, it's easier to get perspective. So don't think of it as "unlimited money", think of it as "no money either way" as if money were a neutral concept. So if money where not part of your considerations, what would you be doing right now? Then take a moment and consider why you are not doing whatever that is. Life coaches often ask this of people as well smile.gif

For me, if money were out of the equation I'd focus more on guitar. But then again, if money were part of the equation (which it sadly is in life) I'd still focus more on guitar. It can be a solitary path, doesn't have to be of course. But it's the one for me smile.gif

i have think about this questions many times......

i'll build a nice home for my familly, a house for the childs when they grow up, pay them good education (that i already do..)
buy some bikes (those i already had a day then sold.....) some cars and i'll give a lot to AIDS research because i think sex with other is important and we must fell free to do what we want , until we have in mind to do not have unwanted childs.

i'll probably setup a private army, and take other the french government..... and give the powa to the people.

Laurent

ps: i'll forbid any music except those played with a guitar and a distortion...... a minimal hair lenght, a lot of crazyness'll be mandatory to be and stay a french citizen

I have never seen this video before - i found it inspiring! If money were no object, I would quit my job and make YouTube videos.
But I'm actually trying that now. I'm working hard to grow my audience in hopes to make money from YouTube one day. I have considered starting a Patreon like other musicians online. But yeah, making YouTube videos is my favorite thing. I love guitar. I would learn to become like Per Nilsson. But then again, I still can, right? smile.gif

Hmmmmm , I've only just watched the video. I took the meaning of "money no object" as having so much money you don't have to consider it.

Now I've seen the video I have to say, I'd probably live my life like I spend my weekends. Being with my wife, driving around the country visiting villages, walking along rivers and coasts, playing guitar, enjoying life. And a few times a year, visit other countries.

So basically what I'm doing now without going to work to get the money to be able to do it smile.gif

Very good point, Todd. Once we get past the toys and upgrades what would we actually do with our time? We still need to do something, we still need a reason to get up in the morning.

I'm pretty sure I'd do the same things I'm doing now, I'd just be able to travel more.

That's exactly what I'd would do... the same things but play guitar, compose and travel more. I would go to NAMM every year, and other important music events around the world as well as would visit many cities that I'd love to know.

You are on your way smile.gif I'd say start a patreon account right away, why not? As many avenues of income as you can swing, as long as people want the stuff, I say go for it smile.gif It's easier than it's ever been to get your music out that and perhaps harder than it's ever been to "go pro" given the realities of the Music Biz, but it's still possible. People do it every day smile.gif

Bingo!!! At some point, you realize your time on this earth is really your most valuable and most diminishing commodity that you have. Spend your time, like your money, wisely. You can get more money, but you can't get more time. Once it's spent, it's gone.

I've read that on their death beds, what folks regret most is spending to much time "'at the office" and not enough time with the folks that really matter to them. So embrace those close to you as much as you can. Life is fleeting. smile.gif oh yeah, and play wads of guitar along the way!!!

What do I desire ?? I'm grateful for having my job because it gives me the possibility to have a good life. But it's also very demanding and from time to time it stresses the hell out of me. So I would definitely quit that. cool.gif There are so many things I would love to do in my life, study photography, video editing, mixing, mastering, I would love to learn to play piano, travel more, read more. Obviously I would love to become a better guitar player and compose more. It's all about free time, which is limited now.
I don't need fancy cars or helicopters. I love my house. We live in a forest and from time to time there are deer passing by , 40 meter from my breakfast table. What more can you ask? I would love to have more guitars though biggrin.gif and a big studio where I could work with other musicians and give them free time.
But basically, when I go to bed I want to have the feeling that I did something positive that day (which can be a lot of things). I'm trying to make each day count and I would do just the same , If money were no object! .... I would just have more opportunities smile.gif
