Here is my Vintage Man Cave. I keep all my new gear in my home studio so my "Man Cave" is mostly retro stuff. Even a large "LO DEFINITION" projection TV so that I can watch LASER DISC and VHS movies along with my XBOX360/Playstation2/Nintendo Wii. smile.gif

I keep all the high def stuff in my home studio which includes one desk station and one station that I can literally operate from bed if my back just happens to be killing me that day smile.gif Here is "Bed Studio1" Mac laptop quad core, two sets of audio monitors, plenty of video monitoris.

Not trying to change the original subject, but I need to say, that
http://www.yucata.de/en
is a really good place for online playing of board games. It is free, but I donate once each year.
Getting together with friends/family with a real board game is better when it is possible though.

Just bought new house and moving. So pics will have to wait until I build my garage and shuffle my hobbies into their correct spaces.

Then perhaps a pic and longer digression of great board games. Just started Pandemic Legacy and Eldritch Horror, but now everything will have to sit until all the work of moving it done.

Guitar pedals have been packed. Guitar cases lined up. Spare vacuum tubes wrapped in anything soft left over. wink.gif

Mines mostly a personal practice space but I can fit a quartet into it.
The second pic is off to the right side where I keep a drum set, amps, a keyboard and some normal 'garage' stuff in the area where I'm taking the picture from.

IMHO you just can't have too many screen smile.gif I have found that even the larger laptop screens are annoyingly tiny and squinty so I tend to use full size HDTVs as computer monitors. They make great monitors imho and they are way cheaper than buying computer monitoors of the same size as they dont' support crazy high resolutions. E.G. my TV's all cap at 1080p HD. No 4k here smile.gif I don't like desktop resolutions beyond HD to be honest as it makes all the menus and text tiny/squinty. You may have noticed that large format TVs have found their way in to pro and semi pro studios the world over. That's why IMHO, they are easy to read, reduce eye strain, and they are much cheaper than computer monitors.

I have no use for 4k at present, as it would make everything much smaller on screen at such high resolution. Also, for videos, most folks let youtube autodetect their streaming quality. This often results in a 720p or less, video stream. And unless your monitor supports 4k resolution, there is zero point to watching videos in 4k. Your monitor is limited to the resolution that is built in to it. Anyhoo, MORE SCREENS!!!!

some examples of studios with big TVs instead of just computer monitors smile.gif

YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY AND THIS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE! smile.gif

*Some folks WANT the extra resolution, for games, for music, for whatever. I'm just not one of them smile.gif

I dig the old school tuner and turntable cool.gif That looks like a nice collection of pedals on the blue shelf too.

That's as it should be! smile.gif Every man should have one room of their place to put their cave!! Having it in the main room sounds like a good idea to me smile.gif It's the biggest room after all
