At this point continue playing with triads but slowly start applying the concept shared by Joe in this video. Notice how he has a precise knowledge of the triads (chord tones) and the other notes from the scale to get the "tension & release" thing happening.

Work over that new backing. Practice following the chords with its tones.

Share a new recording in 3 days.

Hi mate, please feel free to ask everything you need. smile.gif

At this point, the most important thing is that you identify the 3 notes that are part of the chord (root, third and fifth) all along the fretboard. This are the notes that will give a stable feel when improvising. There is nothing more complex than that to be understood at this moment.

So we have a backing track with these two chords: C - F

C chord contains the notes C, E, and G. F chord contains the notes F, A and C. The first thing that you should be able to do is to only play notes from the chords when each chord is sounding.

Then, you can slowly start adding some other notes from C major scale used as passing notes to connect the chord tones.

thankx Gabriel

at this level it's clear for me , it's about later, with the lesson from Joe.

i understand the concept, but i never think soloing in this way, so it's new for me wink.gif

Edit #1

this is a A minor scale ! right ? or C major

Edit #2

this is my take

Cheers

Laurent

Hi mate, great job!

I can see how you are following the chords with its triads and you are also adding some other notes from C major scale as passing notes. We are definitely on the right track.

In order to continue developing this, and getting more and more familiar, I recommend you to try over a new backing that includes more chords. This is my suggestion:

Hi Laurent, C is not right, it's: C E G

However, you seem to be play it correctly while improvising. That's a good first vid mate, good job! Keep going.
