Yep, as stated in my previous post before that one, he actually sometimes uses a "box" on stage to plant his left foot on to stand in the classical position

Can I just say folks, I did say that I struggle with side saddle, NOT classical, watch any of my vids to see how I like it

It's probably me that's wrong I always thought side saddle was with your guitar on the same side leg as your picking hand,
I guess it's because Todd said side sale is awkward because your arm is at an unnatural angle, I took it to be the picking arm because it sticks out funny from the shoulder. -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. Well classical players usually sit with guitar like I do, so I assumed side saddle was with guitar on right leg for right handed pickers.

I think we confused each other a bit in this thread, but hopefully it has been cleared up and we're all talking the same language now

Classical position is just the guitar in between your legs, and side saddle is the guitar on your right leg Most folks start side saddle. Many folks transition to classical later on but not all. But yeah, classical allows more natural position for the hand imho. Todd I've never liked side saddle at all. -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. Great Sarge! Thanks! Yes legato is very important and it might be a shortcut to shredding, but of course a good shredder must be agood alternate picker as well!

I think the mic cam is very sensitive to the guitar being in contact with the desk
Please watch and advise anyway, I'll do a beter recording next time. https://youtu.be/hfKiGqG7MIs -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. Nice! And yet another one down!!! You've got the idea. It's about pulling off with the fingers so that you don't need a pick for most of the lick. Ideally, as you played here, one can pick as little as one likes and have enough finger power to make the strings work as desired.
This gets tough with the pinky in particular. Good news is that you had no trouble making the PINKY do it's job! Well done there. You've worked up enough finger power to be able to pull off this lick and probably any lick you want using finger power alone. As you increase finger power, try to palm mute while doing hammer/pulls without a pick. It's part of what makes Rick Grahams style/Tone so spiff. Muted pull offs. You got this for sure. Setting em up and knocking em down! You are ready for the next challenge my friend! and you just LEVELED UP!!!!!
