Struggling with your reach? Need a bit of help with your stretch? No problem This Quick Lick is designed to help you reach your potential. Being able to play using a wide hand stretch opens up a variety of licks that just can't be played without a decent reach. Make sure to do some hand stretches before trying this lick. Also make sure to use your pinky on the really stretchy parts. You can lift your hand off the neck and use can use thumbless technique if needed.

Nicely Done! Not only did you play the bit, you took it a step further and added some notes along the chromatic scale using tapping. It's always great to see these played well and then expanded upon. Using your creativity to make them in to something more than what they started out as. Spiff! In other words you just...
LEVELED UP!!!!!
You are still the High Ranking GMCer EVER in Quick Licks. Nice!!

I just noticed that from your take, the tablature is only playing each set of notes twice, while the video is doing each group four times. Doing it twice is plenty to show you can play it and make that big jump with the pinky and it's exactly as it was transcribed. I"m going to grade this one next. I will update the tablature though. Here it is in this post as well.

Take 2 Todd, got a bit of forearm strain from falling over in the attic putting the decorations away before we go on our break laugh.gif laugh.gif so it's not as good as the previous take but the repeats are there wink.gif

Sorry to hear about the forearm. I hope it heals up quick! The good news is that it didn't seem to impede your playing! Bits like this require a big stretch and sticking the landing. You've got a good handle on both! Not to mention that these types of licks require solid muting and good timing. You've worked on your skills with determination and now you can pull things like this off! You've got it sorted and you just..
LEVELED UP!!!

Thanks Todd,

The forearm isn't too bad, I kinda grabbed a joist to stop myself but it bent my wrist back and pulled the muscles a little bit. It was just a little painful stretching that pinky out wink.gif

Cheers
