Hello folks,
I always thought that if I was at home more I would practise a lot more. Maybe in different circumstances I would, but at the moment I'm struggling to sit still during the day time, I'm feeling immensely anxious, I can't concentrate, work is concerning me hugely. I manage to get my usual practise slot in, for some reason that time of day feels a little better but even then I feel very very tense. Are any of you managing to disappear into your practise area for hours? Cheers Phil -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. It's just the constant churning in my stomach, I pick my guitar up, put it down, walk out of the room, walk back in, repeat on loop. I seem to calm down a little bit in the evening though. I guess I'm that used to being at work my brain can't adjust and with all this crap going on it's making me worse.
Thanks for your input though Kris -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. Thanks Mertay,
That's the thing I can't seem to focus on anything, today I cooked a chilli con carne for dinner, and spent the afternoon disinfecting the kitchen, I even took bread rolls from the supermarket wrapping and put into a "clean" bag. I put the packet on the worktop in the utility room, carefully cut the front open, wash my hands, got the new bag, pulled out the rolls without touching the supermarket bag, put them into the new bag and then threw the supermarket wrapping away, scrubbed hands and then washed some bottles of wine in hot soapy water. I think I'm going insane. I've been a little bit like it for a few years, I've had two very bad cases of campylobacter and that makes you very cautious with cleaning things. You should see me if I have to handle raw chicken the doors to the utility room are opened and taps are turned on in advance as are the gas jets on the hob, if I've had to use any steel utensils they get flamed, the I wash hands thoroughly and hold the and of the utensil that was flamed and then flame the other end then drop the utensils into the sink, wash hands, boil the kettle and put boiling water on them, then, and only then, they are allowed back into the drawer which is already open and ready to receive, I then close the drawer with my knee. This Covid19 has made me ten times worse, my wife popped to the shops yesterday for some essentials, I couldn't watch her put the stuff away, that's why I transferred the bread rolls today, and some crumpets, I was trying to de-corona everything. Now I'm looking at my guitars, my keyboard, my mouse aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhh -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. Thanks Todd,
I have plenty of soap, but I've been wondering about the hand sanitizer, it's anti bacterial and this is a virus. I often wake up at the weekend with anxiety but this week is been daily and doesn't go away very quickly, the churning stomach, tight chest, it's horrible. We've stopped watching the news before bed for now. Cheers Phil -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. Most say prefer soap if possible, cause it not only kills but washes away. Yeah that's what I've heard, and does the antibacterial gel actually do anything other than kill bacteria? I'm thinking along the lines of antibiotics aren't used for a viral infection only a bacterial infection. -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. Thanks Mertay,
it's anti-bacterial gel not anti-viral, I don't know if the alcohol kills a virus. There are many conflicting things going around. No news channel is saying anything about the 99% survival rate so all we see is deaths deaths and more deaths.
This is a very interesting article and not scaremongering even though it might look it at first. https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2...ion/5080571002/ Stay safe -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. I think that there will work similar mechanics as any other form of anxiety/depresion/tension. The trick is to keep your mind busy. Kirs have a great input on this. Try to make yourself some particular tasks to complete during datime. Practise with guitar alone could be hard to keep the focus away from the situation outside, but...practiseing with a lesson or backing can do the job Thanks buddy. My main concern of worry and anxiety has been work and my staff, there was no time to prepare really but we have been speaking with our accountants this morning and they are on the case with all of the help available from the government. I feel a bit calmer now things are getting under control with the finances. We've done all we can to keep the staff safe by sending them home, we now need to help them financially and also keep the business afloat. We need a healthy workforce and a healthy business after this is over. Thanks again. Thanks for the share! I think i'm gonna have to cut news back to every other day. It's just all become exactly the same and none of it is really increasing my Zen. All I can do on a personal level is try to be safe, as that's all any of us can really do. so stay in if possible, play guitar or play videos games,
