... When first saw the update I also shared your thought, not serving much for a guitar player. To be fair though Logic has always been favored for EDM, soundtrack etc. type artists. All friends I know of around me who are logic users prefer it for its midi etc. type advantages, there's even one doing midi with logic then go audio on reaper. But for guitar players who also wants to make their own songs or backing tracks, it can be pretty useful. Kris pointed out the sampler, I can also point out the loop stuff. First here's a video of someone making a song from loops just by almost randomly clicking(jump to 1.30); But with the right loop collection, one can make rock type backings too. There are a lot of kontakt based loop libraries sold out there, Uebershall uses its own player (looks similar to apple loops) and offers interesting metal, rock loops too; https://www.ueberschall.com/products/constr...Date/20.en.html So probably not you as you're familiar with all steps of a production, but the guy who's focused on only guitar and don't know much about midi it may be a good solution. I watched the vid but didnt' seem to see examples of what you were talking about in terms of creating your own drum sets, having logic chop things up for you etc? It seemed more like ableton than logic with the cells and live sample triggering. All that is cool of course, just seems more geared to EDM/hip hop than rock. I"m sure more vids are going to be coming out every day. I'll try to keep on them and find the bits you mentioned and share them in this thread. Yeah the loop functionality should be amazing for quickly arranging and creating backing tracks. A lot of our more modern sounding lessons use samples/looping. |

Sampler, looping and lots of new tools for producing! I've also seen similar updates on Cubase 10.5 (the software that I use) and I'm extremely happy!
