To be honest, I don't care if this guy has "emotion" and all that other random stuff that has no relevance. I clicked to see the fastest guitar player, not a melodic song, and I assume you guys did as well, so why criticize him for irrevelant stuff? I'm sure this guy plays other styles and stuff, and if he wasn't "passionate" about his instrument, why would he spend hundreds of thousands of hours perfecting his technique? Learning heavy bends, phrasing, vibrato, pentatonic scales, etc. don't take 1/100 as long as it takes to learn how to play 16th notes clean at 250 BPM.

Look at Yngwie Malmsteen for example. People always criticize him because he is extremely fast (out of jealousy, I assume). Yet he has written many "emotional" pieces like Blue, and Black Star, but people refuse to take those into account, because they would rather look at a guitarist that can't play fast but does the same "emotion" thing like Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, Dimebag, etc. (no offense) because their level of playing is something that anyone can reach and have fun doing it, whereas playing as fast as shredders takes tons more boring hours of just running up scales to a metronome over and over and over, which no one but extremely dedicated players want to do.

And if it really comes down to who is the most "emotional," classical composers defenitely knock out all 20th century guitarists. Listen to Beethoven's 9 symphonies, Vivaldi's Four Seasons, etc.

This is not sped up. You can tell because his other actions like moving his head and all that would be sped up too. I think this is pretty sick.

There is a way to tell how many NPS there is in someones playing by using this formula.

(notes per beat) x (however many beats per minute) / 60

Following a formula similar to that I came up with him playing 16th notes at 750 BPM, which unfortunately, is not possible.

Ohhh yeah,IF it's played clean and accurate on and per beat,

That's a good post with some good points! Agreed 100%! I commented on the guy only by judging his technique.

You actually succeeded in telling what i was always trying to say but never managed to.

Thats because that was already calculated.

I'm not sure if that was sped up or not. But I agree with Muris... his raking made it sound like crap. Good that he's that fast though, maybe if he slowed himself down and played it musically he would be a great player.

Yea, I'm just sayin' there is no way it is actually 50 notes per second. People don't realize how fast that actually is that means he is hitting like 1 note per .02 second. I would say it is about 30 max, he sounds about like Francesco Farrei, which I think his record is like 33 as well.

Ive seen MAB Play that fast (and faster live), i dont see why anyone else couldn't achieve the same speed, Appears legit.

Also, there are a lot of people crossing the highly subjective "worlds best guitarist" with "worlds fastest guitarist". The all encompassing "best" category include elements such as discussed above. You don't need to cheapen their accomplishment simply because you don't understand what they're trying to achieve. Certainly one aspect of playing is musical knowledge, but there's also the technical side of actually executing.

In the meantime, I can't wait until this CD shows up in the mail.

It's not sped up, MAB's solo is playd on one guitar, he just plays around with the other 3 necks in the video for show.
