So after acquiring Revalver and loving it to death, I was recommended to buy Redwirez IR to really show the full potential of its amp simulation.

So, I bought the ENGL cabs from there website (link below) for just $8.00 - played with them for about an hour and LOOOOOVED them beyond belief. They were instant tone, almost recording quality right from the get go. I used all these in conjunction with a 6505+ (which I adore) and combined. After a day, I bought all of the cabs, $125.00 - and good lord it was worth it.

I am currently working on a project calling for a high gain melodeath tone, and here is some experimentation done with Revalver smile.gif

This is probably a worn out platitude around here man, but you sound pretty dang good on the ol' axe yourself! biggrin.gif Haha, sounds good man, I'd like to just get comfortable with the gnx4 thing I spent too much money on, then broaden my tone horizon biggrin.gif For real, you have some good tunes man

Thanks man! smile.gif

The riffs are kind of thrown together for purposes of seeing how the tone handled sustained chords, pedal note licks with melodies, and "self-harmonized" chords. Major aspects in what I am working on

Its actually Steven Slate Drums, the kit is just sitting there pretty much, no EQ or mixing. Normally I spend a day or two on drums alone to get it to sit right.

So I'm a little confused? This is an amp emulator that allows that works while you record?

Probably a dumb question sorry! laugh.gif

Yep its similar to amplitube or guitar rig, Personally i think amplitube is better, I remember testing it about 2 years ago and i wasn't impressed hence why i use amplitube now, I use it every day as my main amp, Guitar is constantly plugged into my pc smile.gif

Yep, its a VST plugin is all smile.gif

Peavey Revalver is by far (to me) the best there is out there. And I own pretty much every one there is, Guitar Rig, Amplitube, Poulin and all free ones, Overloud, you name it I have extensively toyed with it, but the redwire and revalver combination is just pure win!

I cant speak for anything other than the newest release which apparently made some big improvements over past versions, not sure what though.

SLATE! I freaking LOVE the SLATE drum plugins. The sounds are AMAZING with a bit of tweak. The samples impress me far more than the EZ drummer samples, but the EZ drummer interface seems handier for putting together the midi. Like lots of folks, I'll usually start EZ and put a track together then just replace it with SLATE. For Demo/Lesson work, I've got a UAD signal chain that makes the EZ sound very close to the SLATE so as above I sometimes just use that.

Great to see folks using the SLATE stuff. It's really done well and can add LOADS to a final mix. If you have not already, check out the UAD plugins. I had to get a set to be able to open scoring/mixing projects and they require extra proprietary hardware WHICH I HATE but they do sound just AMAAAAAZING. The NEVE and SSL channel strips are just killer.
