Hey Folks,

This is what I have learnt via GMC and looking at tonnes of YouTube videos of others playing so wanted to share.

There is competition going around in another site called Live4Guitar.com and it was high time I tried something of a mix. This is my first competition entry and first every try at such kind of thing. Upto now, I only have been composing slow, melodies and practicing AP (for 1 whole year almost). I tried putting what I have learnt till now and also explore other techniques which interestingly came out itself. I couldn't compose by head and people like Muris and Pedja always said that but this time, it came in my head. First I couldn't play because I am not used to improvising or playing at that fast pace, mentally not prepared I guess. I sat down to replay each lick and combining which alternative / phrasing sounds better. It took 2 weeks for me to learn my own composition.. wink.gif Anyway, hopefully, after much more composition of this type (all in one, not just lesson focusing one thing), I might be able to play at first time. smile.gif

So, here is my entry. If you hear the intonation issue, please forgive me. Its not perfect but had to record. smile.gif

Please don't be too harsh. Thanks for watching and if you are participating, Good Luck!

maharzan

Well, I liked just bout everything bout it. smile.gif Especially that it is based round a melody rather than planless soloing.
Nice work Chandra and good luck!

Great job guys!
I also like the fact that maharzan's solo is based round a lick/melody.

Hey.. Thanks guys. smile.gif

Mudbone, I use a Canon 7D. If you are on a budget, Canon T2i does the same thing quality wise. smile.gif

Both great takes guys!

@Maharzan; you play really well mate and I agree with Staffay about it being a planned solo rather than just numb shredding, I think I would have preferred a little more zest in your lead tone though, bit more gain, upper mids and some delay would be perfect for that type of solo!

Thanks Vaidya. If you are asking me.. sure. smile.gif

Thanks sted. I can't shred yet. I am looking at Andy James videos for inspirations. Perhaps someday I can. I will work on the tones too. smile.gif

Really great job! Your playing is smooth and articulate. Shredding is really the easy part smile.gif I can show you how to shred in three or four lessons. Join me this saturday and I'll get you started. smile.gif

BIG QUESTION: What kind of camera are you using? I love the image quality.

Thanks Todd. I would love to learn some shredding but unfortunately, video chats don't work for me that smoothly and timezone kinda sucks. smile.gif I will be dreaming at that time.. 2-3am in the morning. The camera is Canon 7D.

Thank you Organised. smile.gif
