GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Newby Says Hi
Posted by: Becca Mar 31 2014, 03:04 PM
Hi folks, this is my first posting on GMC so a bit nervous. I have been playing guitar for quite a few years but as I'm sure you all would agree there is always lots more to learn. My fave guitar players would be Eddie Hazel from Funkadelic, Zal Cleminson of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Moses Mo from Mothers Finest. Ariel Bender of Mott the Hoople and Mick Ronson of Bowie fame. There are dozens of players out there i love listening to but it would take all day to list them all. That said however, Randy Rhoads guitar sound ALWAYS gives me goosebumps. My main "go to" guitar would be my battered '98 Epiphone Les Paul Standard plus top.One of the weird bolt on neck models. It gets more use than my Gibson SG!
Looking around this site, I can see lots of things to keep me busy and get me thinking so I think this may be the first of many postings. One of the first things that struck me about this site is how friendly and helpful everyone is. I have lost count of how many people ,mostly fellas but not exclusively, have been arrogant or condescending about my playing or my gear. Everyone here seems to just want to play well and help others to do that too. Excellent!
Well, I just wanted to introduce myself to you all, dip my toe into the water and say hello.
See you later.

Hey Gabriel! Big Thanx. Wowsers, everyone here is so great. I am really happy to be a member here. This is the first site I have come across where everyone is ready to just jump in and welcome a newby and the offers of help and encouragement are really fantastic. I am still finding my way around as there is so much on the site to take in. Honestly, I am blown away by the positive attitudes displayed by everyone here. Rock on, peeps.

Welcome Becca!
This is a great place to learn so don't hesitate to dive in and consume the lessons or what the instructors have to offer. I've been playing for a loooong time and there is still plenty for me to learn. This site has it all but I highly recommend contacting one of the instructors to help guide you on your journey. Any of the collaboration projects are also another great way to stretch, grow and get some good advice on your playing.
Glad you're here! Stick around!

I'm glad you like my tone and thank you so much for your kind words
I can say that all you see in my playing, that sensitivity and dynamics it's what my instructor learned me in our mentoring program. For me GMC it's like wonderland and my instructor it's a wizard who can make miracles with my playing
Choose an instructor to fits your style of playing and you will see that amazing things can happen. All the instructors are the best and they will change your playing style in a great way
See you around the forum

Hey Becca! Welcome!
I think you'll enjoy GMC very much! It's addictive.
Two great things to do around here to get started is to get into the mentoring program with either Cosmin, Gabriel or Darius,
and join the video chats! the video chats schedule is on the home page, and is in London time.
Hope to hear you playing soon!
