It sounds like you got the rhythm and lick stuff down pretty good.

My only suggestion would be with the tone. You’re using way too much compressor and or gate. Everything is squashed and sounds the same as far as dynamics.

Your wah pedal would sound way better if you just tone that done.

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

I just redid it using a smooth jazzy tone...

This is one of my favourite songs from Hendrix! You did a great job. You really have it technically! but the tone doesn't convince me... (I'm talking about the second version). mmm the tone is ok but I think that it has too much effect. (delay & rev). wink.gif

You got the vibe right, but (being the purist regarding Hendrix), I must say that wah sounds not good for me. Original song is clean and gentle. Regarding notes, you did really well, somewhere I can hear that you fall out of beat and you played only one string here and there, where two or three needs to be heard, but the main melody is there. Good job

I think your second track sounds better!! wink.gif

Your technique is still really great and I can hear the guitar better without the wah. It sounds more like a vintage guitar (without the single coil tone). Try a little wammey for vibrato here and there.

Your smooth jazz tone works good, but for a classic sound like his I think you need some more mid range. It needs to sound thicker and when you hit it hard it breaks up (a little fuzzy). Close your eyes and just play. It will create more emotion and feeling. I know it sounds stupid but just try it a few time.

Keep on jamming man it sound great!! smile.gif
