Boutique Distortion Pedals, $150 + distortion ...is it worth it?

Dec 1 2007, 07:20 AM	GMC:er Posts: 2 Joined: 1-December 07	OK after some severe research around the net (harmonycentral mostly and some Youtube vids) I've been debating buying a Tonebone or a H&K or Damage control pedal or maybe even some Keeley pedals... The problem is I'm not sure if they are worth the high dollar... So I'm asking if anyone here has any experience with these pedals especially the Tonebone brand (Classic, Plexitube, Tritrone, or Hot Brit) and what kind of sounds they got out of them. I'm a severe tone freak when it comes to my rig so I'm really not concerned with one pedal doing many different things, in fact I"m all about one pedal being awesome at one sound and buying another pedal for another sound if needed. That being said I'm looking for a variety of distortion sounds anything from "Slash" to "the Edge" to def leppard (no laughing) to Children of Bodom. My gear.... I definitely think I'll pick one up soon (bidding on one now on Ebay). It seems like it's a bit thicker thatn the MT-2. But I'm looking for a variety of distortion not just metal... Thats why I asked about the tonebones / Damage control pedals. (side question.. if I was to use a tube screamer for more peircing leads would I put it after or before the metal pedal?)
