Not only for business owners. Some people fortunately understand that if company will fall, their job will fall as well. I think we are all in financial relations so this pandemia affects each one...maybe besides the ones that get retirement payment but...they're the highest risk group so they have something worse to worry about... I wasn't meaning to sound selfish about being a "business owner". I am concerned for every one of my workers as well as myself, that was what I meant, business owners have a lot of burden to retain staff. They technically only qualify for statutory sick pay but for the time being, because we value them, we are paying them in full. Hopefully we can qualify for government help. We will be arranging a huge loan to carry us over too. IT's not like you run a brew pup with lots of random foot traffic. It's a small group of the same folks so not a huge public health risk it seems. The thing is done of my lads have wives that work in supermarkets etc. They have to go, they could pass it on to their husband he could bring it in and we could all go down with it. There are a lot of shared computer stations in the workshop, we are very very tight for space so the distancing thing is hard. I'm just trying to protect my workforce as much as possible. I'm gonna need them when this is over. Also nearly all of our customers are closed so we can't dispatch and invoice them anyway. -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. We've been at this 'lockdown' for a solid two weeks now. Folks are less panicked and the markets have plenty of food. Paper products - not so much, though I was able to find TP a couple of days ago.
It is hard to find flour and I know that 90% of those hoarding it have never baked anything in their life. And I can guarantee you they have absolutely no idea how to store it. Not that they're gonna need it but when they go to make that pizza in 3 months, they're going to open it up and find mouse turds, weevils and silver fish. My technique is to go to the Armenian markets in the morning. Doesn't have to be early. Generally speaking, the only part of LA's population that shops there are Armenians, Greeks and Russians. The white folks don't go and either do Asians, Hispanics or African Americans. There's also an Italian bakery that didn't get ravaged and has meat and frozen lasagna, plenty of pasta and coffee and the like. All the restaurants here are open for take out and delivery and many of them are also now selling bulk stuff like bread, flour, milk, sugar, eggs, etc. Once people realized that the stores were still getting deliveries, they started to chill out. The only place I've found toilet paper in Georgia is at Quick Mart where it's five bux for four pack which is almost double what it should be. In local groceries/walmart/target, all the TP/Sanitizer aisles are just empty. It's like somebody backed up a truck and just took all of it. It's unsettling. It's also stupid. People are hoarding for no good reason. This guy goes to several places just like I did today. I must have beaten him to the punch at quick trick you know you can find squirt bottles like this at most hardware stores https://www.amazon.com/CVNDKN-Plastic-Safet...9709&sr=1-6 |

Not wanting to make light of the situation but the backs of my hands are fucking sore from paranoid washing.

I share this information with the idea that it could possibly help someone in some way.
My cousin Joey died of Covid yesterday in Nashville, at the age of 61. I had been getting daily calls about his condition, but I'm still a little shell shocked by the outcome. I hate the fact that, except for the hospital staff, he died alone - no family members were allowed in the hopital. Rollingstone released a nice tribute: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-co...bituary-974556/ Joey and I grew up in a little town in Oklahoma. We played sports together, played in a cover band (that part worked out OK for him), acted stupid together, and I was the best man in his first wedding. He would laugh if he heard me say that. When he did gigs in the Dallas metroplex, my wife and I would drive over and spend a couple of hours on the bus with him before the show. Good guy. Take good care of yourself and your family, if possible. Jeff |
