Probably middle-eastern.
I'd advice you to focus on minor, then harmonic minor and finally not so common scales though.

Hirojoshi sounds like japanese, so it might be from japan

Weird. sounds pretty similar to phrygian dominant in use.

I think more people should study these exotic scales you know they give flavor to your playing, just ask Dick Dale he uses them alot.
