Oct 2 2016, 08:22 AM	Learning Rock Star Posts: 991 Joined: 8-February 13 From: North Vancouver	So Just came back from Maui, was gone for 4 weeks had great time Come back to my car and see that it has been broken into, then realized my car had been broken into and had left both my guitars in trunk and both were stolen ( So now I have no guitars I am saving up for a guitar in the 1000 dollar american range, but I dont want any Whammy bar, I want to be able to tune 1/2 step down or drop D at any time, Any suggestions on a model would be awesome insurance is covering 600 dollars You are at GuitarMasterClass.net Don't miss today's free lick. There are so many options - do you have any more specific requirements/wishes you'd like to share? If not - I would say you are in a good position because you can do what I like to do when searching for a new guitar: Don't care about the brand/model and just look for a good deal, be really open about the specs/looks etc. Perhaps you have the possibility of testing guitars in your area? If you find a guitar that sounds awesome but isn't as playable as a high end US/Japanese guitar - you can compensate by pleking (costs around $200). Any non-floydrose type bridge would do for drop D, even vintage trem.s (like ones on strats) can be tightened to not move. 1000 is also a very good range in USA so you still have a lot of options. The guitars I lost were my Adrian Smith Jackson and had a JS100 Ibanez. I Know that I do NOT want a ffloyd rose anymore, all my guitars have them but a pain to re string and then when I want to tune down its a pain. Other than Ibanez if anyone can tell me are the Epiphone Les Pauls good guitars? Hopefully mid October will have new guitar. You are at GuitarMasterClass.net Don't miss today's free lick. I believe the Epiphone guitars can be very good guitars. More so the more expensive ones that are fitted with Gibson pickups. I like the higher priced epi's very much which are all in your range but the fact that it will be your only guitar (atleast for a while) its really different from your previous guitars. Do you have a chance to demo them? Considering the previous guitars, options I thought immediatly were PRS S2 line or a Fender H-S-S strat. If I will not have money next year to buy a second guitar, I will install on my beloved Jackson a tremol-no As for the guitars probably I will choose between Ibanez AT10p or Fender H-S-S strat. For me Epiphone and PRS are not comfortable and this is a must for me when I buy a guitar. At 1000 dollars you can find a good guitar no matter of the brand. If you see a guitar that you really like but it has a whammy on it you can always go for one of THESE. There is always the old two blocks of wood method but at least this gives you three quick options. I have one fitted to a guitar that has a Schaller floating trem and the knife edges are worn out. It's just like a fixed bridge. You don't get as much sustain but it's not a deal breaker. You can get some good deals on guitars with floating trems now as they are losing a little bit of popularity due to all the drop tuning being done at the moment.
