ok, lets say i exported something from Guitar Pro as a MIDI file, but i want it to put it on my ipod (yes, MIDI sound), so that means i have to convert it to mp3/wav. How can i do this? i try importing it to Audacity and then exporting it as a WAV file but when i open the file and click play, nothing happens.

Please help. thanks.

I think you can export your work(midi) to wave straight from Guitar Pro.
Tho I couldn't do it myself... blink.gif

Not sure if you can do the midi to wav conversion in guitar pro (don't have it on this pc - on my laptop - so can't check. Other programes its usually part of the render to disc.

If you can't there are a number of software progs that claim to do midi/wav conversion. Have a look at this as an example.

Cheers,
Tony

Deal is there IS wave in export table... huh.gif
Now,it asks me about record driver and offers 2 options:
-primary sound capture driver
-E-DSP Wave (DF 80)...my card is E-MU 1280m tho.

Whatever I choose,no sound in rendered wave...and file is bigger if I render bigger part of GP file tho...

Perhaps I should use Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth or som but it's not on the list. wink.gif

Muris - are you doing that in GP or in Cubase? Cubase should be ok and has a GM midi set if I remember correctly...

FretDancer - 10 secs dry.gif - not sure maybe the right position marker (if there is one in GP) isn't set to the end of the song but at 10 secs? Also look at preferences (or whatever the equivalent is in GP) just to make sure that it isn't set at 10 sec. Juan may well know as he is good in GP smile.gif .

Cheers,
Tony

You could try Goldwave (http://www.goldwave.com/release.php)

Once you have downloaded Options -> control properties -> Volume then tick "What U Hear". Once you have done that just set goldwave to record and play your file in guitar pro then once its done you can edit out the silences and save it.

But in GP I write notes/tabs without using Midi for it(our conversation from few nights ago). smile.gif

Ah well sorry Muris,
Don't use GP very much and don't have it on this laptop sad.gif so I'm not sure and can't check. May need either the right position marker taking out further, a preference changing somewhere beyond 10 secs dry.gif . Just not software I use much - sorry unsure.gif .

Cheers,
Tony

(BTW Muris - the Axiom USB midi converter is reviewed in the October Sound on Sound - they liked it a lot. I'll post the summary for you asap.

Cheers,
T)

Sorry FretDancer hadn't realised that the version was a limited demo to 10 secs.

This is freeware and may be able to do it for you - though I don't know much about it. This one converts but not sure if it renders or is shareware or freeware...

Only other that I'm aware of is a bit of a fudge imo as it's really a linux/unix port to windows.

Cheers,
Tony
