hey guys, well i bought some seymour duncan five two's,

once i installed them, and plug the guitar in i noticed that the bridge pick was way too loud...and the neck pick up sounded really muddy and when switch to parrelle it sound the same as the neck pick...the tone pot make hardly any difference at all,
its only noticeable on the bridge pickup. the wiring is based on standard tele wiring. im wonder if i might need 500k pots or a different cap in there?

any idea's, or tweaks you guy can offer?

all the best Reece.

Check that they are wired correctly. And check what pot's you should use. Also check that all pots are OK. A damaged pot can give really weird results. I had something similar when a pot was bad.

Maybe these can help:

for ther pots for sure yoiu need 500k ohm but you have to check the briedge pickups how many wires it has
4 or 2 or 3 if it has 4 thats mean this pickup has a booster so you must add a swich for that booster and
manually use it

Check the above manuals or consult a local Luther..They should not charge much for a pickup change and they have the experience needed. smile.gif

Maybe you connected the wires wrong? Did you follow the exact instructions from the diagram?

When you have 4 wires, you have 2 from each coil. This is done so that you can separate the coils for different configurations of switching. Such as hook the coils of the same pick up in series or parallel, Or use one coil from one pick up with one from another. in series or parallel.

One thing I have run across is that if you are changing pickups from one manafacturer to another the color code is almost never the same. Dimarzio and Duncan have completely different color codes so make sure you have the proper wiring diagram from the manafacturer.

Peace.
