I learned the F chord in 5 positions. F shape "normal" C shape - G Shape - A shape and E shape. I need to learn the major scale.. so I need to know the notes in order... can you tell me hoe the notes go..? Just from A to G ? I mean.. ehm... hard to explain. the normal order form A to G

If your looking for major scale, the formula is :

T(root) w w h w w w h Which relates to the spacing between notes, so in F major its:

F G A A# C D E then back to F.

Andrew's Theory lesson subforum would be a great complement to the way your class is teaching it as Andrew has a way of explaining it in a simple way.

But be aware that theory take a long time to understand, and needs to be balanced with normal practicing of guitar(meaning you wouldn't want to just work on theory alone without having a guitar in your hand -At least that's my opinion - I've tried it)
