Yeah I was listening by ear trying to match his tone. I found to get a meaty tone you need some low mids and less treble. My tone is sounding better and blending in the mix.

I used to have that very Focusrite interface, it just doesn't work with POD Farm unless you purchase iLok or something. So I got a UX 2. The GX I won here was sold to my friend. Last year I bought a new PC for better recording (and gaming). Some people here are Apple fans. I think have been recruited to Alienware because I have 14" gaming laptop. Alienware is priced for the speed and glamour. I like mine.

Pretty cool tips that I honestly never noticed.

I'm incredibly uneducated recording wise so most of the time recording for me ends up being me hoping for the best and clicking random buttons.

A lot of his explanations really made sense. Great video. wink.gif

I use my about 5 years old Asus laptop with USB for recording. I'm going to buy second guitar some day and also new PC, but right now my budget is too tight for this kind of things and I have to manage with these. biggrin.gif

If it gets the job done without headaches, it's all good mate! wink.gif

I consider myself as uneducated in comparison to Darius or Todd for instance, who know a HUGE deal of things and have the experience behind them to speak for. I am learning, but I must admit that I am far from being a fan of tweaking stuff smile.gif I like writing and playing more than anything.

I think you (and many other gmcers) are selling themselves a bit short! I"ve been impressed with the staggering amount of experience and information that everyone here brings to the table. Which is what makes GMC so great smile.gif Everyone hear has some specific learning or experience that really benefits everyone when shared here in the forums. Having worked as a college prof, I do tend to systematize everything and collect knowledge the way some folks collect comics/stamps/cars etc. smile.gif So keep sharing everyone!! I'm still collecting smile.gif

Thank you Todd! Maybe you are right, but I am being realistic in respect to this aspect wink.gif I always want to improve and this is clearly a weak spot that cannot be ignored in today's musical environment.
