Hi guys! I want to ask if there is a program which will write the tabs while you are playing the notes simultaneously?

I know that Sibelius 7 can do that. I have friends and they use this program for writing tabs while you are playing.
You must made setings very well in program before you play, to be able to write corectly the tabs.
I tried to make this thing with my Roland keyboard but I made something wrong and the musical sheet was written wrong. So, maybe you are more lucky than me smile.gif

I'm sure you will handle yourself with the program smile.gif
My mistake was that I didn't know what setting to make in the program to delimit the right hand with the left hand.
If anything goes wrong tell me and I will ask my friends.

I was thinking along the lines of:

1) Using Jam Origin Midi guitar software solution VST
2)The mentioned vst to create a midi track
3) Import the midi track to Guitar Pro
4) Re-tweak if necessary

If you manage to make it work[using a guitar to tab out] with Sibelius, please do a small tutorial.

A big problem!!!

I called one of my friends who make tabs in Sibelius and he miss to told me a "little" detail: He have a midi guitar which he use it only for Midi scoring programs. A normal guitar will provide audio signal not Midi so you can use it in Sibelius.
The keyboards have midi and this is another story.

So,..... the best ideea is to use the solution provided by Korblitz. I will try myself his idea.

YES smile.gif IT's called GUITAR PRO.

You can download a demo for free. You can get a midi guitar that is actually a game controller for about $60 or so and connect it via Midi to USB cable to your computer.

Open GUITAR PRO and click MIDI INPUT ACTIVE.

As you play, the notes will be written in to the tablature smile.gif I use this method for making my guitar tablature each and every sat/sun for my video chat lessons so I know it works smile.gif Here is a link to the type of midi guitar I use. It's actually a game controller smile.gif

and here is the midi to usb adapter smile.gif about $5

SOFTWARE SOLUTION

KORBLITZ idea is quite clever!! I have a copy of that software and I'll try that too. I wonder if you could make GUITAR PRO see the output of the software so you could do it in real time? I"ll try it smile.gif

YOu can also buy a little box that converts your guitar signal to MIDI but I have one and it's not that accurate sad.gif So I gave up on it. So far, of everything I"ve tried, using the game controller has been the most simple wink.gif

Let's not forget the importance of being able to write your own licks down and actually hear what you're playing smile.gif

Once you get used to software like Guitar Pro, you will become very fast and efficient at typing tabs in. I'd just learn the software you're using in and out smile.gif
