> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hey buddy wink.gif

I am here to grade as I just sent you a PM with my observations on the take smile.gif

Please focus on fixing the timing for the octaves beginning in the part from 0:23 onwards in order to make this take really shine!

Keep rocking!

Cosmin

Hi mate. This take has a really cool energy from you. Well done!

I notice that you are having timing issues in many parts, it's not something serious but, I feel that you are not going with the backing's groove. As it doesn't seem to be a technique issue, I feel that the way to fix this is focusing on timing, focusing on the backing's tempo and trying to make your right hand rhythm go tighter with the drums. When you concentrate on timing, there will appear some errors in your playing but it's normal at first, don't worry. You will have to slowly be able to do the things naturally and without having to think consciously on everything. It's just a matter of practice and time.

Another thing that could be improved on this video is the audio. You are using your camera's mic to capture the audio and we finally end more the string direct sound than the amp sound. This could be definitely fixed using some free software like the suggested on this video:

Send me a PM if you need help to set everything.

This is a strong attempt my friend. Your rhythm is generally good, it just needs tightening up with the backing track.

During the strumming of the octave chords in the last part of the track (from 0:23 onwards) I can see and hear that you sometimes get left behind the beat a little beat.

One thing with strumming is to try and get the strong beats with a down stroke. So this may mean that sometimes you will want to lead with an upstroke so that the down stroke falls on the accent. Hopefully that makes sense ?

You may be doing that anyway but it looks like you're performing the accents with an upstroke - it could be a video lag thing..
