I Got A Guitar Choice To Make, Help please!

I bought a Dean From Hell (discounted to $722), but at the same store there is an Ibanez JEM (which I see is very popular on GMC) used for $1400 (!) and I am considering returning the DFH for that guitar (it is twice as much though). I like both guitars and each has their downside (the main problem on the DFH is the whammy bar does not go up very far, and I might like the JEM neck better).

I like metal and shred and the like.

So, any thoughts, opinions or advice?
