Greetings GMC.

I am currently trying out a barely used Robert Cray Mexican made Strat with a 9 & 1/2" radius. I must say it would be the nicest electric guitar I've ever owned and the chunky neck feels GREAT in my hand. Even better, I'm getting it at a very good price from a friend. My question is... Is it worth my time to drive three hours north and head to Guitar Center in Atlanta to try a compound radius fretboard before I buy? I've read some good reviews, (makes bending easier and all), but have never played one.

You know what ... I would just buy that guitar if it feels great ...

Does it feel great ? If yes then go for it. I'm no guitar neck specialist but I know when I'm in love with a guitar. I wouldn't drive 3 hours if I feel that the 1st guitar is a good one.

Edit: Sorry I haven't seen that it was a question for the instructors
