GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Featured At Guitar Center During Vacation!
Posted by: Gabriel Leopardi Aug 9 2017, 03:49 PM
Hey guys! I'm back from vacation. I've been visiting some family at NYC and every time I go there, I go to every guitar store and try every guitar that I can!
I've tried really beautiful stuff like Ibbies (I've played Kris Ibanez and some other similar!), Fenders (being Jeff Beck signature one of my favorites), John Petrucci's Music Man signature, and many weird ones. I've uploaded some of these vids to my social networks.
The cool thing is that Guitar Center shared on of my videos at their Insta and Facebook and it had a lot of views! Honestly it's a big honor for me.
It got 54000 views in Insta and 40000 views in Facebook!
It's curious to see many people saying great thing and many saying things like: "this is not musical", "these guys don't know how to play a whole song", "this is not a lick, it's just a scale", and my fav comment is "Congrats! You are learning scales", which I've decided to reply with a "yeah! I'll start learning chords the next week" and got this reply:
@gabrielleopardi don't get me wrong, homie- I wish I could play like that. This shit is fully rad! It's just my jealousy talking. My speed isn't there.
Why people takes so seriouly a 15 seconds random playing video at a store?

seriously though.... Its a much bigger honour for them! Some of those comments are hilarious , they should ALL end with '#only-my-jealousy-talking '
Brilliant video, Gab. Just think how much faster you will be when you start using your pinkie #only-my-jealousy-talking did you come back with any guitars?

Yeah, sometimes people can't just enjoy music. Instead, everybody has to have an opinion .
How did you like that six6? I'm thinking about buying one.

The suspense!
I plan to visit the big guitar shop in Malaga - Spain when I am there next week. This is the shop from which I've bought my red custom shop schecter from:) But I doubt anyone will film me and share on the net

Film yourself and tag the shop! In this case, my girlfriend filmed me and I've shared the vid at my Insta tagging Guitar Center. Then, they asked to re-post it and I agreed.

I thought the IBBY vid was a KILLER vid!! You always get TROLLS when you get views. The more views, THE MORE TROLLS! It's the price you pay for your video going viral. The good news is TROLLS ARE MORONS so ignore them. The views speaks for themselves. If it was not worth watching, 100,000 people would not have taken time to watch it! I watched it a few times myself You were RIPPING THE HECK OUT OF IT!!!!
I gotta say man you need that Ibby big time!! You seemed so comfy on it!! It looked like it was almost playing itself at mach 5. Wel played there. I hope you can grab one of those at some point in the future. It was almost an extension of your arm. Just built in to part of your body. That guitar is YOU!!

It's in my list of wishes now.

Go for it if you can. It's a GREAT guitar, and it has a very unique and cool sound. It's also very comfortable to play.

It will definitely help, but are you up to the challenge of such finger twisting trickery?

Good thinking! Give yourself time to adjust to this multi-fingered use of the instrument!

You know, I always found that people used hatred as a tool to hide their insecurities and inabilities rather than hating.
The whole "this is not musical" or "WHERE MAH SOUL?" really hits a nerve sometimes. God forbids if we have any kind fun!

Hey that was ten years ago - power chords were considered very difficult back then.
@Gab - tough choice! I'd probably go for the ibby because you always need at least one ibby

I've always fancied the idea of that. Instructors doing a REC take of other instructors' lessons. Just to see how close they get the tone and the feel compared to the original, they only get one day to nail it though . It might make us mere mortals feel a little bit better, then again, it might destroy our souls

LOL! More than likely Its an awesome idea though
I remember Ben doing a vinnie Moore rec ages ago....... I think he scraped a pass

Super congrats on this. They would not have chosen to feature you if they didn't realize how incredibly good you are. You make the instruments look good just by playing them. Also, you may it look easy which also make the guitars seem a bit better as well In truth it's all you, you could play as well on the cheapest guitar they have IMHO.
You gotta ignore the Trolls though as the only purpose they have in life is to 'Grief" other people who are better at something, smarter, etc. This bugs Trolls to no end and they have to lash out. It's the only form of attention they can get, sadly.
I thought you played beautifully, because you did

My first thoughts are: I love it. I was looking for a hard tail and this plays like a dream. Nice flat radius with great action. The DiMarzio Edge Fusion pickups are excellent. This is a not a subtle guitar, it's meant for shredding and metal. I don't know why they even bothered with the coil split switch .

Because sometimes you need to start with a beautiful clean chordal intro before you start the sonic slaughtering. Nice axe Rammikin! Congrats!
