GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Krappy Guitars...

Posted by: Déjà vu Sep 1 2008, 08:32 AM

Hello, all! I ordered a "Touch style guitar" from a company called Krappy guitars less than a week ago (The owner has a sense of humor laugh.gif) . I had a lesson on one of these instruments, and I was inspired enough to buy one for myself! Thought I'd share for anyone who has ever wanted the quality of a Chapman Stick, but felt it was a bit of a stretch for the ol' wallet wink.gif.

He's sent me three pictures so far... I was not expecting him to be working this quickly. The man I had a lesson from said it would take about 4 months to make it... Again, it hasn't even been a week yet. smile.gif

Related to Ivan's post: isn't it gonna be a drag to change strings on that? tongue.gif

Restringing that monster will surely be a "Krappy" experience.

Thanks guys! I plan on having no clue what do do with it once I recieve it. Maybe, If I get good enough I'll make a lesson (for those few brave soldiers who play sticks). Speaking of which... Does anyone know a good lesson site for sticks I can start with?

Amazing (from hearing it in person). I don't even know yet! I plan on trying multiple styles and seeing what I like to play the most. I may like to play a completely different style from what I normally play on guitar. I'll probably start with some jazz. I don't expect to shred on this thing anytime soon laugh.gif .

Thank Ivan! I believe mine may be tuned like this (bass in 4ths). http://www.stick.com/instruments/tunings/12/classic_b4/

I'm embarrassed to say I'm not completely sure (string names, etc.)

Re-stringing it will certainly be a royal P.I.T.A.! I barely get by stringing my guitar! I also have to order strings from online as replacements. I am looking forward to playing it for the first time biggrin.gif, but not looking forward to breaking a string for the first time sad.gif.

Can you put regular electric guitar sets on it or you need some special sets? If you need some specials sets that could be expensive unsure.gif

No, I need strings made for the instrument. I would buy them from "Mobius Megatar" for about $27 a set *OUCH!*
