GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ It's Not Your Amp, Really :)

Just in case anyone needed a good example of how a good player can sound through a really, really, really cheap amp......

Here is Dimebag playing through one of those battery powered marshall toy amps. You can see it on the guitar strap in the first part. It's tempting to think that if you buy an amp that costs more than a car, that it will make you sound better. Honestly, only practice can do that smile.gif

I saw Andy Timmons playing on a very, very cheap amp and sounds amazing. Of course I don't refer to the quality of sound or how cool is this tone (because isn't at all), I am only talking about the quality of playing. It's the only thing which nobody can't buy, steal or borrow, the thing that make you special or not.
I'm totally agree with you and YES.... only practice can make you sound better.

Yes, and it doesn't hurt that he's playing a George Harrison melody and an Eric Clapton solo wink.gif
Song is king - regardless of tone.

Well said smile.gif You really can't buy, beg, borrow, or steal it, you have to EARN it with practice smile.gif Even on cheap gear, you can hear the hours of practice paying off smile.gif
