Hello from the state of Alabama, where the rock lives even though 80% of everyone is still counrtyeeeee...
I hope I am not the old guy on the block but the other day I turned 40. My wife would ask why do you need to learn more guitar? She would say she has heard enough. I am sure the head phones have helped kept us together. My friends and family think I could not possibly need to improve as what I know blows most of them away. But I, and most of you would know better.
I came here to get clean, nope not from addiction but from 20 years of unclean licks.
As I see some of you mentors rip your neck to pieces and I can count every note you hit, I wonder if it is to late to play that clean. It is hard not to believe it is too late. I look down at the wore frets on this charvel I have had for 20 years and wonder how much of that wear was wasted time.
My goal is simple, play like I always wanted to even though I may never play it for more than 5 people at a time.
I have wrote many solos for my own songs and they are not bad at all, but they are still not clean as these I find here.
The first thing I get from being in here is a real big chunk of good news and that is I have always double picked correctly, man I would hate to start that part over. I took some of my faster solos and compared they to the lessons and saw that clean is what is missing. I am not doing it wrong I am just not doing it clean, so here goes wish me luck.
GMC look like a lot of fun and I will share a few of my song in the next few weeks.

Hey leadbreak - welcome!

I'm a short way behind you, turning 40 week after next ... and have a similar story and similar goals to yours. The jury is out on whether we'll ever catch Kris and Pavel up, time is on their side! But it sure is fun to try wink.gif You've come to the right place anyway - there are a good bunch of guys here at all levels, and there is always someone happy to answer your questions and give advice ... good luck!

Andrew

Hey Andrew, Nice to meet you.
Thanks for the reply...
Yep these fellers can rip it up, that is for sure. I look forward to learning all I can, good news is playing is still a ton of fun for me and practicing is still not a bummer to do. Although doing it right can be slightly less fun. LOL
