GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Argh! 2 Stolen Guitars

Posted by: purple hayes Mar 4 2010, 03:28 AM

Our office got broken into at work last night. They took 10 computers/laptops and a bunch of monitors.

They also stole 2 of my guitars that I keep at the office to practice on during lunch break. One was the Epi Les Paul that I just bought a few weeks ago. sad.gif

I think the office's insurance will cover my replacement cost, but it still sucks that my guitars were taken.

AHHHHHHHHhhhhhh man I feel your pain! I hate when people steal!!! But maybe you can score some new instruments... huh.gif luck you for the insurance! cool.gif

That sux man.. Ages ago my boss mt-2 pedal was stolen and I still remember it.
Hopefully the financial aspect gets covered by insurance, as for the emotional attachment ... ah well ... shit happens .. buy more. I see Zakk is already excited to help you out with it wink.gif

That's a shame ... I hope the insurance will cover that .. It could maybe trade 2 cheap guitars for a good one cool.gif (Without sayig that Epi are crap of course)

That sucks! Nothing worse than having your stuff stolen mad.gif

My house got robbed a few years ago, before Christmas..the bastards even took all the presents that were under our tree. The good news was that somehow they missed my guitar equipment..not sure how that happened but I was thankful that they did. Unfortunately they got most everything else..thank god for insurance.

Hope it all works out.

Oh, that's awful... sad.gif

Zakk: Haha, what are you selling? smile.gif

Man, sorry to hear that. I also keep 4 guitars in 3 different places, so if one place gets robbed (or burns down) I don't lose all my guitars. Still, I think after some time you develop an emotional binding to your guitars and don't replace them as easily as underwear...

Oh man, that is really unfortunate. At least you got the insurance, so now you can buy them all over again, and shopping new guitars is always fun! smile.gif

That is bad luck. Sorry to hear

Posted by: Bogdan Radovic Mar 4 2010, 02:46 PM

Oh man that was bad luck sad.gif I don't know why they took guitars since they were after computers etc... But its good that you have insurance and that the cost will be covered, so you can get two guitars "back"...

Ouch! Sorry to hear mate... I hope the guitars have a faulty bridge pickup that explodes as soon as the play an E Chord laugh.gif

Hope you get the money back at least, that's good news at least.

That must suck so hard

Everything happens for a reason! I think this will now put you in touch with the magic guitar that you are SUPPOSED to have!

Posted by: Sollesnes Mar 4 2010, 10:58 PM

Also you should definitely keep a little look out on ebay for guitars like that in your area smile.gif

Well, the insurance claim hasn't been filed yet because we're still compiling a list of some of the office stuff that was taken. I'm not sure if I'll get the price I paid for each guitar off of craigslist or if I'll get full retail because our policy covers 'replacement cost'.

I'll definitely be getting another Les Paul though. Not sure about the bass.

Sorry to hear!!

I got robbed once, left my pedal case in my car trunk...never again....

Posted by: maharzan Mar 6 2010, 05:39 AM

whoops! sorry man.

Posted by: Marcus Siepen Mar 6 2010, 07:00 PM

Thats really bad, and I know how it feels, once one of my guitars was stolen too. I just hope that the insurance covers the loss, even though buying a new guitar is not the same as having your old beloved treasures...

Sorry to hear that...but good news about the insurance!
