Hey guys, it's been awhile!
I was wondering if I could get some advice with left hand tapping please?

I've been trying to learn this song:
(this video is a cover but I really like it)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umGJ-KZWsPI

But I'm having issues with the volume of my tapping while I'm using my left hand. I've tried adjusting my gain and other things but it really doesn't help all that much so I figure it's probably a technique and strength related issue.

The first chord/arpeggio in the song goes like this:

e----------
B----------
G--------4
D-----5---
A--7------
E----------

All tapped with the fretting hand. I can only get the first note (using my pinky) consistently loud enough.

I know I need to build up finger strength, but I was wondering if there's some technique/tips that would help increase the volume of my left-hand tapping as well?

Thanks everyone!!

Hi Nick! This is a very cool tune, and a very useful exercise to gain strength and independence with both hands. I'm trying it in my guitar and I notice that the tapping with fingers 2 and 1 in different string is not very natural or familiar for me too, so it requires some practice to get the same intensity that we can get with finger 4 (pinky). It's important to see the original video and notice how he separates the fingers from the fret to hit the string with more strength, that's the first secret to get this done. The second secret it diary practice for some days / weeks to get familiar with this.

Using a compressor will help you get a better sound, but I recommend to focus more on your fingers than your tone. The less help you get from tone at this moment, the more you'll get from the song.

Please keep on practicing and share your results to let me monitor your progress.
