Scalloped Frets/necks

what is scalloped necks or frets (i dont know if there is a difference) ive heard about them and didnt know what there are and what difference they make

Well a scalloped neck kind of curves in at the top of the fretboard rather than being completly flat at fingerboard.Marcus Lavendell use's a scalloped fretboard along with Malmsteen.They are mainly good to give you a better grip on the strings especially when bending,but have there draw backs as well as everything else does. smile.gif Check out some info on these necks you may find you would like one.

My Jem is scalloped on the last 4 frets - helps you to get a grip on the higher string, somehow makes it seem more positive ...
