I don't know , for home recording - I think that the Reaper is better! I would stick with it... Ableton live is not that easy to learn how to use, and I think its intended for live use (backings playback, samples etc)...

As far as I understand Ableton is made to play around with live music, for DJ's and other live type of shows.
I'm positive it's also good for recording but I belive Reaper will be more "logical" and easy to use for yout purpose. -------------------- My bands homepage

I agree with Bogdan and MickeM, Reaper is better both function and price wise.

I preferred Abelton's helpful approach and I didn't see anything that made it "intended" to work with live music. It was incredibly easy to record.

If it works for you, I see no reason why not getting it then mate. Everybody has different preferences, and although I gave my vote to Reaper, well any DAW is good if in good hands. Abletone always had a good compatibility with MIDI controllers, and I think you will get the best of it with Nanokeys.
