Take 3: Metallica For Beginners, Lesson By Gabriel Leopardi |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Metallica For Beginners by Gabriel Leopardi
Thanks so much for your feedback on my last video. I created an audio file with all the pitches on the six strings and have made practicing whole and half step bends to pitch a part of my daily routine. My vibrato is still a work in progress and I'm definitely going to progress to the lessons mentioned last time. It's the primary skill I'd like to improve right away. Practicing along with the original recording was VERY helpful and I was able to identify a lot of details I was missing with just the backing track. Hopefully the third time's the charm. Hi friend! Great job with this one!!
I can say that there are many improvements on this new take. The rhythm section sounds perfect now, you mastered it! The solo section starts to get closer but it's still the part that need more work. The first thing that I note is a little tuning issue when you play the higher frets in the higher strings. This can be a calibration problem, something related to having old strings or just a tuning issue. Check it out. About your playing in the solo, I note that you are still not comfortable with the rhythm of some licks. I notice a little timing issue in the first licks of the solo so re-check them comparing your playing with the original take. Besides this, I can say that your bending is not totally consistent and that your vibrato technique also need some work to be wider and sound more connected with the groove. I recommend you to add this lesson to your diary practice: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Bens-Vibrato-Odyssey-5/ In other words, you just have to adjust some details in order to master completely this lesson. You are very close. Keep on rocking!! -------------------- My lessons
