Kristofer...
I checked out this site before and played some of the samples and decided to try it for three months and I just have to say WOW!!! I will definetely sign up again.
I have played and played for years and have in two days have learned so much and at a ridiculous pace!!! I play an American Strat with Texas Specials through a B-52 AT-212 100 watt tube and am trying to dial in that "Brown Sound" do you have any suggestions? also I love the guitar your playing and I'm sure you've been asked this a miliion times but what is it and how is it set up? Also curious about your amp etc.
Every instructor I have seen so far has been incredible and I love the way the lessons are set up.
Great job to all... keep this site up and going... I love it!!!
Kelly Rountree
Thank you Krountree - and great to see your picture!
Unfortunately I cannot give you any good advice for the sound you are looking for. Do we have any other people who know what the brown sound is about?
I get decent tone when connecting my strat to a Peavey Triple X amp - I don't use any other effect but a wah-wah and the delay that's in the amp (which really isn't an superb one!).
Keep practcing!
Welcome Krountree - so you like EVH - i too like the brown sound but havent tried to achieve it. Now was it Steve Vai or Joe Satriani or someone like that? who was working in the studio and Eddie was in one of the other studios with gear all set up and offered him a play through his rig. And they said yes thinking it would be great to sound like eddie but when they played they still sounded like themselves and that sound that eddie makes they couldnt get even with his very own rig, good lesson for all of us.
So good luck, you will get some great tips here I'm sure as this place is filled with talented and helpful people.
Hi Krountree, and welcome - there are a lot of people that know their amps and effects around here, I would suggest you ask about your quest for brown sound in the gear forum - I guarantee you will get some answers
