Which side of the pick do you use when you're tapping with it? smile.gif

Posted by: Tolek Apr 16 2009, 08:50 PM

Just move your pick towards your hand, so that the side of it is ready to tap. wink.gif

I mean like, is it the sharp side of the pick that you tap with or is it the not so sharp side? smile.gif

Here are two picks that show what I mean. Just imagine that the mouse is the fretboard. laugh.gif

I'm bad at explaining i know smile.gif but the side that you have against the mouse is the not so sharp side, and the other one is the sharp side smile.gif

I use the point of the pick.

But shouldn't it be easier to use the other side/sides?

The other side of the pick is as sharp as the other. huh.gif Just do it in the best way for you. Try every side and decide which is the most comfortable.

Follow Tolek's pictures and substitute mouse for guitar fretboard. Can use anything that has an edge - plectrum, finger nail, coin, ring-pull, samurai sword..

Well that's what I thought at first smile.gif, but it seemed to make my pick tapping faster.
