OK, what is that pedal that you consider "the best" ever? smile.gif It has to be something yo used a lot, know it very well, and consider it the best that you ever used? smile.gif

For me, it's probably.. Tubescreamer, this universal tool can be used with almost any amp I can think off! smile.gif

BINGO! Got to be the TUBE SCREAMER! The HM2 perhaps a close second smile.gif But the screamer is just a brilliant pedal for lead play and even rythm. Well worth having in any setup. I even like the Software version in Guitar RIg and the Emulated hardware version in my Digitech GNX3. Perhaps the perfect pedal smile.gif

FIne choice!

Todd

I'm actually really liking the Digitech Bad Monkey. For such a cheap pedal it sounds really good. But my lazy ass yet to assemble the TS808 kit I have lying around, so we'll see what I think after I put it together wink.gif

I love the TUbe Screamer but the TS 808 not the new one smile.gif I also have these two and I super enjoy using them to add that little 'something' to my amp when soloing:

The MXR adds a lot of punch to the tone!

I got the Bad Monkey and never looked further. I think OD pedals are a bit tricky since I want to test them on my own gear. Was always happy with the bad monkey so never had a need to find the grail.

Digitech DF-7 for me, just love it, was using a Behringer Ultra Metal pedal for a while which is probably the best bang for buck pedal I`ve ever bought but the Digitech isnt quite as harsh and I just love the sound I get from it smile.gif

I had this one for a while, but in the end it did not satisfy me. Too little drive, too much hi mids. I found OCD better, but far away that is bad.

For me this is it, it sounds very close to the tube screamer, and it's cheaper smile.gif

Ibanez Tube Screamer and Macson Tube Screamer are some of my favourites...
I also like the Visual Sound Route 66's overdrive which is similar to the tube screamers...

It seems lots of us like the tubescreamer! smile.gif

What is exactly the thing with that overdrive tone that we all like? I'm leaning towards it because it has nice soft and smooth mids. The dynamic boost it has can be found with different pedals, like DS1, or OCD, but it kind colors the sound with some cool mids, dunno how to explain it. Overdrive quality itself is not the best tho.

My favorite at the moment is the The Keeley modded (Phat Mod) Boss Blues Driver:

This one is way better than the original Boss pedal, and takes care of all my overdrive needs.
And if I need more, I'll always have my Suhr Riot distortion pedal smile.gif
