What's up?

I just joined this site today and i have already fallen in love with it. Music has always been one of my greatest passions. About 6 months ago I decided it would be kinda cool to try guitar. I had an old acoustic (which was pretty much a piece of junk) and i started practicing on it. I found an article that told me how to read tabs and i just kinda went from there. Then for christmas, i recieved an Ibanez GRX20 electric guitar and a Line 6 Spider III 75w amp and thats when i got serious. Of course i was kinda in denial and wanted to teach myself, but it was starting to get really hard to right solos without actually knowing anything about it lol. Thats how I ended up here.

I'm into alot of rock and metal. I like writing alot of death metal though as i have found that i have more of a musical ear for that. It's just an easier genre for me to write.

Here is one of the songs I am working on....its not totally finished as i have hit that almighty solo problem that i mentioned.

Its in Guitar Pro 4 format. And as you may notice, lol, i put Kris's tapping video to use.

nice, i like writing death metal riffs too. Slow and brooding ala Obituary Cause of Death to Morbid Angel God of Emptiness. Nothing like a riff that will pound nails on your head all day. So whos your fav death metal bands?

Actually i dont really listen to death metal as much....im more into Metalcore and Hardcore stuff like Killswitch Engage and As I Lay Dying and bands like that.

Its just easier for me to get off on writing death metal tabs. But i do listen to some of the new bands like Job For A Cowboy and The Black Dahlia Murder and uneXpect.

When i finish that song that i posted in the first post, There is a band from Rhode Island that heard it and asked if they could use the tab when i fully finished it, lol, so i know im doing something right...

VinceG: Did you actually download that part of my song or were you just resonding to my first post?

no, i do listen to it....what i was just saying was im into more Metalcore than i really am into Death Metal, i just can right Death Metal easier

lol...well at least your honest that you dont like it, though you are the first to say that. My song is based on a more modern death metal feel.

But of course, you should also remember that its not fully finished....ill send it to you when i get the solo and everything in it just right.

And that band that wanted to use it, well, what i wrote really fits their style of music from what they told me. They're called The Deluge Of Djinn, here is their myspace page:
