I'm not sure...
I believe I tried something called a "Fender Silverface" once. I loved that amp, so if I remember the correct name, that would be my pick |

I've always loved an old Princeton Reverb, never think they did a good reissue, but the older ones I've played were amazing.

Any of them if they'd ACTUALLY re-issue it ... not just the name and the faceplate.

Todd, being new here I have to ask a couple of questions. What is an "IR" and what is an "IR list at OVERLOUD TH2"? Sorry, I'm not up on these terms. Hey man, Welcome to the forums! An IR stands for 'Impulse Response'. It is basically a short WAV file that captures the tonal characteristics of cabinets, so you can emulate them through a software situation. Here's a nice link that will explain the basics. If you wanna give them a go, you can download a free VST called keFIR, and load up some impulse responses. Here is a nice list of free IR's. |

I"m probably more inclined to wish for a new set of impulse responses featuring said amps and really any other amps one could imagine to add to my IR list in OVERLOUD TH2. Speaking of, have you made any IR's that you'd like to share? Most amp guys have some really nice amps around that would lend themselves to spiff IRs. Todd I'm with Todd with this! I wouldn't by a Fender Reissued but I definitely like to have them as an option in my amp emulators. -------------------- My lessons

None of them.
I think the people who own FMIC have really done a good job in destroying what was once the top name in amplifiers. For one thing, there are a ton of the old amplifiers out there on the used market. All are serviceable and are handmade. The designs are solid and havwe stood the test of time. The modern reissues are the classic amps in name only and while they may kind of look like the designs of yesteryear the quality of construction and sound are nothing like the old ones. I guess I'm lucky in that I was getting into guitar playing in the late 80s and you could get pretty much any silverface amp for user $300 but even today I see a lot of the old Silverface heads for well south of what the reissue amps sell for. Fender does make some good amps. The VibroKing comes to mind, although mine had a rectifier problem and I hear they're now made outside of America. The Clapton Tweed stuff is really nice but not exactly 'reissue'. For me, I wish Fender would discontinue all the imported stuff and go back to making a few models of guitars and amplifiers in America the same way they used to. Even if a Strat was $2500 or something (which is probably about what it would be adjusted for inflation). The Fender name doesn't hold the same magic for me that it once did. Same with all the other brands FMIC has managed to tarnish. -------------------- company contact
