Excercises And Practice Plans? Options

Hi, I'm looking to really improve my technique during these last 5 weeks left of summer. I have good amounts of time, on average 5 hours, and I really don't want to waste it doing the wrong stuff. I want to improve as much as possible. I have been doing alternate picking, legato string skipping, etc, but I think I want to try a different approach, if it would help me improve faster.

I've been looking at studying some classical guitar on my electric - they're both guitars, I just wont quite get the correct tone that comes from nylon I guess. Not to mention the thick neck.

I've looked at some classical excercise books, such as Kitharologus: The Path to Virtuosity(Is this a good book?), and others.

Also, studying some classical etudes on gmc.

Is this the right direction to go in?

Sure.. learning classical pieces can improve you'r playing in many ways.

or you could just stick with Kris 101 series if you want to pump up your technique. From my own experience, learning from kris is ten times better and a thousands times cheaper than learning from videos.

Well studying classical music is cool and will definitly improve your playing..I would suggest writing down goals you want to achieve in these 5 weeks of practice , like writing down techniques that you want to improve and than doing strict exercises for techniques on the list making a cool and interesting mix in a daily session..You can seek lessons at gmc that focus on particular techniques and practice them..I find practicing focused exercises/lessons best way to progress..
